Titan IC Systems has won seedcorn funding worth £13,500 in an all-Ireland business competition.
The All-Island Seedcorn Business Competition is run by InterTradeIreland, a cross-border business development body, that aims to stimulate new start-up activity, accelerate commercial development and create more opportunities for private equity investment throughout the island of Ireland.
Belfast-based high tech start-up Titan IC Systems emerged as Northern Ireland winner of the new best emerging international company category in the All-Island Seedcorn Business Competition 2007 run by InterTradeIreland.
Chief executive, Dr Godfrey Gaston says it is the first 32-bit data-path regular expression processor capable of processing POSIX/PCRE compatible regular expressions in parallel at 5-20 Gb/s line rates.
“The RXP is a revolutionary new technology capable of processing multiple characters and multiple regular expressions in parallel as concurrent tasks on multiple processing engines.
“As we continue to work on its development, we are delighted to have won seedcorn funding from InterTradeIreland which has already resulted in significant interest from industry experts,” adds Dr Gaston.
Dr Martin Naughton, chairman of competition organiser, InterTradeIreland, said: “For the fifth year we have had phenomenal interest in the Seedcorn Competition – and an excellent level of entries. This island is filled with entrepreneurs and it is they who will lead our economy and secure our place on the world stage.”
